USA (6) – das Wochenende mit meiner host family und diese Woche mit unserer deutschen Gruppe

Den letzten Blogeintrag habe ich am Samstag geschrieben, das ist nun schon wieder 5 Tage her … daher nun der Bericht über Sonntag bis heute (Donnerstag).
Am Sonntag gingen wir mit JulianH, Benjamin, Julia und deren Austauschpartnern sowie mit meinen Gasteltern und denen der anderen zunaechst zur JellyBelly-Factory (war jetzt net soo spannend, aber ich fands okay, vor allem die Mitbringsel von da ;-)), danach zum Burgerladen in’n'out (lecker!) und zum Schluss noch n bissle shoppen im Vacaville Shopping Outlet (Ergebnis: ich habe neue Nikeschuhe, die ich zum spottbilligen Preis von 32$ inkl. Tax kaufen konnte – entspricht gerade mal 21€!).
Am Montag waren wir dann Snowboarden, wir mussten etwa 2,5 Stunden zu dem Schigebiet fahren, und gingen deswegen schon ziemlich frueh los: um halb 8 trafen wir uns mit den anderen, weswegen wir um halb 6 aufstehen mussten … Nun ja, als wir dann aber dort angekommen waren, war die Muedigkeit – fast – vergessen. Zuerst habe ich mich ziemlich bloed angestellt und kam nicht einmal den kleinen Lift hoch. Verstaendlich, wenn man das erste Mal ueberhaupt Abfahrtswintersport macht, oder (bisher nur Skilanglauf)? Im Laufe des Tages wurde ich aber – logischerweise? – immer besser bis ich dann am Ende mehrmals hintereinander ohne hinzufallen den Bunny-Berg runterkam. Finde ich persönlich gar nicht mal so übel …
Dienstag ging es dann nach Monterey mit unserer deutschen Gruppe. Nach der ätzend langen Fahrt von 3,5h standen wir schließlich vor dem berühmten Aquarium Montereys, in welches wir dann mit dem dritten Anlauf auch hineingingen. Dort konnten wir uns wie üblich aufteilen – Kleingruppen mit jeweils mindestens 3 Personen. In “meiner” Gruppe gingen wir zunächst zur Fütterung der Seefische, gingen danach irgendwann zu den Ottern und am Ende noch zu den Quallen. Besonders die Otter waren sehr knuffig :-) und die Quallen waren teilweise in wirklich schönen abstrakten Darstellungen zu sehen. Zwischendrin waren wir noch kurz draußen und haben uns auf die Holzbänke in der heiß scheinenden Sonne gelegt. Nach einem kurzen Trip in den Museumsshop, gingen wir 4 (Oli, JulM, MonaB und ich) dann nach draußen und liefen ein wenig durch die Straßen Montereys und statteten verschiedenen kleinen Kruschtläden einen Besuch ab. Um halb eins mussten wir dann wieder zum Bus, doch MonaD, JulM und ich kamen 4 schlimme Minuten zu spät zum Bus – da wir sonst verhungert wären, was laut Frau Haderthauer nichts ausgemacht hätte: “Lieber verhungern als [4 Minuten] zu spät kommen”, wegen uns könnten wir nicht mehr nach Carmel – diese Aussage sollte sich ein paar Stunden später als völlig falsch erweisen … Nach Monterey fuhren wir zum Point Lobos (State Reserve), also an die Küste. Dort erlebten wir, wie der Pazifik auf verschiedene Felsen traf. War in meinen Augen ziemlich exciting, allein schon der Wind war aufregend. Leider mussten wir schon ziemlich bald wieder gehen, weil wir uns um halb 4 mit der Busfahrerin (die es “gewohnt ist schwere Lasten zu bewegen” – wohl Spruch des Austauschs :D) ein paar hundert feet weiter verabredet hatten, damit wir danach noch nach Carmel fahren könnten. Wir gingen also um 3P wieder weg von dem Naturschauspiel – doch wir waren bereits um Viertel nach beim Bus. Wir fuhren dann also los, doch die Busfahrerin wollte uns nicht nach Carmel bringen, weil wir dann zu spät zurück seien :-( Zum Ausgleich hielten wir dann noch bei einem Wendy’s und schlugen uns dort den Magen voll – ich nahm aber lediglich ein 5er Chicken Nuggets, wegen Hungermangel. So war dann auch bald der Dienstag am Ende …
Zum Mittwoch gibt es nicht viel zu sagen, weil es einfach ein “normaler” Schultag war – außer, dass wir 5 Präsentationen hätten halten müssen es dann aber doch nur 2 waren, weil es eine Lehrerin mal wieder verplant hat ^^ Die freie Zeit verbrachte ich mit “herumhängen”, in der Sonne liegen und im SVZ surfen. Aharon war nicht in der Schule, also holte uns sein Bruder ab. Wir fuhren mit ihm und Natascha (einer ehemaligen Austauschschülerin, die wieder in einer Ami-Familie ihre Zeit verbringt) zu seiner Arbeitsstelle (einem Printshop, der Schilder, T-Shirts etc. bedruckt – war interessant) und dem Haus von Nataschas Familie, die ein Lama, ein Schaf und eine Ziege als “Haustiere” hält.
Heute waren wir dann mit unserer deutschen Truppe noch einmal in San Francisco und Umgebung. Die 3h lange Fahrt fing um 8 Uhr an und wir hielten das erste Mal in Berkeley und besichtigten den Campus der dortigen Uni, die übrigens die viertbeste der USA sein soll. Ein Deutschstudent führte uns durch das riesige Gelände und wir bestiegen den “Sather Tower” genannten Glockenturm (knapp 100m hoch). Von dort aus hatte man einen grandiosen Ausblick auf Berkeley und hat sogar die ein paar Kilometer entfernte Golden Gate Bridge gesehen. Doch diese sollten wir 4 Stunden später noch viel besser sehen … dazu später mehr ;-) Nach der kleinen Führung hatten wir noch eine Stunde Zeit um in Berkeley zu shoppen und etwas zu Essen zu kaufen (wieder in den Kleingruppen). Danach fuhren wir mit dem Bus nach San Francisco und hatten dort wieder eine Stunde Zeit um Shoppen zu gehen – diesmal in der Hippie-Straße, in der es jede Menge kleine Kramläden gab – doch vieel teurer als im Market District, in dem wir uns am vorletzten Wochenende in San Francisco aufgehalten hatten (Jeans für 200$?!). Danach fuhren wir durch den Golden Gate Park (jede Menge Penner …) und landeten schließlich an der Coast. Wir hielten uns ein paar Minuten am Strand auf und fuhren dann weiter zur Golden Gate Bridge. Dort musste natürlich ein Gruppenfoto gemacht werden (alle wollten natürlich mit ihrer Cam eins gemacht haben – ging also ne Viertelstunde, bis wir alle gemacht hatten … ^^) und danach liefen wir über die 5km lange Brücke. Wobei sie uns kürzer vorkam – nach einer 3/4-Stunde hatten wir sie in langsamsten Tempo (jede Menge Fotos etc.) überquert und dort auf der anderen Seite wartete bereits unser Bus auf uns, der uns in den Vorort Sausalito bringen sollte – wo es wieder ar***teuer war. Eine – zugegeben sehr große – Kugel Eis 3,5$?! Dort kaufte ich mir noch in einem Souvenirladen eine Jacke und ein T-Shirt mit jeweils “San Francisco”-Aufdrucken. Kostete zusammen 30$, hat aber wohl auch keine Top-Qualität … Dann hingen wir noch ein bisschen am Hafen rum (sahen eine riesen Limo) und stiegen schließlich in den Bus ein, der uns zuverlässig zurück nach Galt brachte, wo alle (außer meine) Familien bereits auf uns warteten. Wir kamen recht pünktlich um 8:07 an, sodass wir ziemlich genau 12h lang unterwegs waren … Hat aber Spaß gemacht! Und die GGB war einfach sehens- (und belaufens-)wert.

btw: bei wie vielen bildern sind wir inzwischen? und wie viel videomaterial? … bin übrigens gerade dabei, mal ein bisschen platz für den ganzen film zu schaffen…. 100GB hab ich schon frei gemacht! aber naja.. fehlen noch nen paar mehr wa ;)

Videomaterial – habe ich immer noch gleich viel wie davor, Cam geht immer noch net (habs aber auch net mehr probiert). Also so
2h vielleicht. Insa hat wohl ungefähr gleich viel. Also zusammen rund 4h.
Bildmaterial – mehr als genug :D ich weiss es zwar jetzt gerade nicht genau, wie viele Bilder ihc habe, müssten aber so 1600 sind ^^ Die anderen haben meist 300-600 pix.
Die Bilder sortiere ich aber alle auf meine HDD oder? Und wir bekommen nicht alle Bilder auf die DVD, das kann gar nicht gehen, allein ich habe ja schon 3-4GB … Muessen dann halt aussortieren, die ganze Arbeit mit den Pix mache ich von mir aus.

die insa hat nur 2h material? da hat die aber sparsam gefilmt… hatte sie die cam wenigstens bei den ausflügen dabei?
und das mit meiner cam… naja is jetzt halt schon scheiße wa.
und die bilder werden ja auch immer weniger! in der ersten mail hast du mir irgwas von 10 000 bildern nach den ersten 3-4 tagen geschrieben, inzwischen gehts nicht mal noch ne woche und es kommen nichtmal 10 000 bilder zusammen?!
und die bilder sortieren machste am besten auf deiner HDD, ich brauch halt die sortierung dann auch auf meinem pc. dasselbe dann noch mit dem videomaterial… wobei du das wahrscheins bei mir sortieren musst.
und ja: alle bilder müssen wirklich nicht auf die dvd – ich schätze mal ungefähr 20% sind interessant, der rest nicht. außerdem kann man sie noch komprimieren, bei montses gaudi waren ca. 1800 bilder komprimiert 400MB groß.

doch, es kommen auf jeden fall 10 000 bilder zusammen, es werden nicht weniger …
ich werde mal ne liste am mittwoch durchgeben, wo jeder die ungefahre zahl der bilder eintragen soll, damit wir das ein bisschen einschaetzen koennen
hast du noch ne relativ kleine HDD uebrig? das waere ja die beste moeglichkeit zum speichern/sortieren
