SchülerVZ 3.0?!

Jetzt hat doch das SVZ-Team tatsächlich das weltgrößte Netzwerk nur für Schüler geändert, nachdem es ca. ein halbes Jahr lang keine Änderungen erfahren hat. Meiner Meinung nach gibt es zwar ein paar Dinge, die verbessert wurden – die Nachteile im Gegensatz zum Altbewährten sind aber auch gravierend. Insgesamt sind die Vor- und Nachteile in etwa ausgeglichen. Folgendes ist mir aufgefallen:
negativ
- unordentlicheres Design: es gibt ein paar neue rosa Linien im minimalistischen Design, die sich nicht so gut machen (z.B. zwischen “Wer zuletzt deine Seite angesehen hat” und den dazugehörigen Bildern oder zwischen “Gabriel ist gerade …” und der dazugehörigen Nachricht). Im alten Design war das besser gemacht. Auch gibt es manchmal hellrosa Hintergründe (Beispiel: Bild in einer Fotogalerie), die zwar nicht aufdringlich sind, aber eben auch nicht so minimalistisch. Allgemein stören mich die ganzen neuen Linien bei der Fotogalerie …
- inkompatibleres Design: anscheinend wurden – für Firefox-User wie mich unsichtbar – Änderungen am CSS-Code vorgenommen, die die Positionierung des Content-Bereichs betreffen. Daher kommt es in älteren IE-Versionen (alle außer v7) auf manchen Seiten zu Darstellungsfehlern. Doof finde ich das vor allem, weil ich finde, dass das SchülerVZ eine sehr hohe Browserkompatibilität bieten sollte – viele gehen von irgendwelchen Schul- oder sonstigen Rechnern in das VZ um schnell z.B. die Nachrichten zu checken. Dort wird häufig der Internet Explorer verwendet und man kann daran leider auch nichts ändern.
- unhandlicheres Verlinken: früher konnte man auf eine Stelle im Bild klicken, die Anfangsbuchstaben des Namens eintippen und Enter drücken. Jetzt muss man zur Maus greifen.
- blöderer Mauszeiger. Ich hasse es, wenn der Cursor permanent zur Hand wird – egal ob man ihn über Buttons bewegt oder die Auswahlliste beim Verlinken – ich weiß selber, dass ich da klicken kann!
positiv
- weniger “ich habe mehr Freunde als du”-Kämpfe bei gewissen Schülern durch den Text “x hat mehr als 200
Freunde” und keiner genauen Anzahl der Freunde - häufigerer Gebrauch von Javascripts und selbst geschriebene modale Dialoge (Einblendungen, bei denen man eine Aktion durchführen muss, ohne die es auf der Seite nicht weitergeht, wurde davor mit Browserboardmitteln – confirm() - gemacht). Leider verdunkelt sich der Rest nicht, sodass einige User irritiert werden könnten. Außerdem gibt es ein paar neue Einblendeffekte (z.B. beim Schreiben einer neuen Pinnwand-Nachricht): die textarea wird nicht einfach so eingeblendet sondern “fährt sanft hinaus”.
- übersichtlichere und besser zu handhabende Formulare u.A. durch Einsatz des Label-Elements. Insbesondere die “Privatsphäre”-Seite ist deutlich übersichtlicher
- bessere Fotogalerie. Ohne zu scrollen kann das gesamte Bild + Beschreibung angesehen werden (zumindest bei einem Browserfenster, das nur 3 Zeilen für Adressleiste, Bookmarks, Tabs o.Ä. benötigt und ner Auflösung von 1024px Höhe). Auch finde ich die Navigation mit “x von y Fotos” besser und der Bildname ist mehr hervorgehoben (ob besser oder nicht ist hier Geschmackssache)
So, das wars erstmal – wenn mir noch mehr ein- bzw. auffällt editiere ich diesen Post. Aber jetzt muss ich noch einen Post zum USA-Aufenthalt schreiben …
/edit 1: Die alten selbstgemachten Styles sind inkompatibel, sodass sich jeder, der seinen alten Style behalten möchte, nach einer neuen Version desselben umsehen muss. Eventuell werde ich die Styles, die ich angeboten habe updaten, auf jeden Fall wird dies aber mit den Styles der Seite www.svz-styles.de passieren. Mein Script zum Download der Bilder ist hinfällig geworden, weil man Bilder einfach per Rechtsklick speichern kann.
/edit2: Das neue Nachrichtensystem hab ich ganz vergessen. Nunja, ob das besser ist oder schlechter ist schlecht zu sagen – es ist einfach anders. Wirkliche Vorteile gibt es aber eigentlich wirklich nicht wirklich.
/edit3: Doch, das neue Nachrichtensystem ist besser als das alte. Dass man einen Blick auf die letzten Nachrichten werfen kann ist klasse! Außerdem noch kurz zum Titel “SchülerVZ 3.0″: Im Logo von SchülerVZ steht “Beta 2.0″ daher wurde bereits im Blog gemutmaßt, dass nun die Version 3 auf die Server geladen wird. Aber das Logo ist immer noch das alte, also ist es immer noch Beta-Version 2.0 …

Die Browser-Kompatibilität wird noch hergestellt, das ist mit dem IE nur nicht so leicht, da er sich nicht an Standards hält.

Ich find’s ehrlich gesagt ziemlich scheiße, nicht nur wegen dem ganzen unnötigen Design-Schnickschnack (finde eh, die könnten mal ein komplett neues entwerfen), sondern auch allein wegen der Tatsache, dass sämtliche “Mods” (wie z.B. dein Bild-Speichern-Script) nicht mehr funktionieren…
Vielleicht (oder sogar wahrscheinlich?!) ist das Absicht von den schülerVZ-Leuten…

Nein, das wird bestimmt keine Absicht sein. Es gibt ja auch Kontaktaustausch zwischen dem Betreiber der Seite svz-styles.de und dem SVZ-Team. Es ist lediglich eine Folge der Umstellung.
Naja, Design müssten sie wegen mir kein neues erstellen, find das jetzt noch ganz gut. Bis auf die Kritikpunkte, die ich eben aufgeschrieben habe.
@Chris: Ja, schon. Das Problem mit der Kompatibilität zum IE kenne ich auch von meinen Websites. Bei abi10-asg.de ist sie zurzeit auch nicht wirklich hergestellt, aber das stört mich jetzt nicht so arg. Bei einer Seite wie SchülerVZ hätte ich als Betreiber aber wohl schon den Anspruch, dass beim Release einer Änderung alles bugfrei funktioniert. Oder zumindest so offensichtliche Fehler behoben sind.
