USA (3) – Der letzte Tag in SF und Abschied nehmen von einer tollen Stadt

Damit ich nicht zu arg mit meinem Bericht hinterherhänge, mache ich jetzt gleich weiter und versuche mich kurz zu fassen …

Also – Samstag, 2.2. Das Programm bestand vor allem dadrin, bis um 3 Uhr nachmittags machen zu dürfen, was wir wollten (==> Shopping) und wir danach in das “Museum of Modern Art” gegangen sind, zum Abschluss des San Francisco-Aufenthalts gingen wir dann noch in ein mexikanisches Restaurant Essen. Zum Shopping muss ich noch sagen, dass das in San Francisco wirklich erstklassig geht: praktisch jedes Label ist mit einem eigenen Store vertreten (adidas, Levi’s, Abercrombie & Fitch, GAP, Nike, Apple) und es gibt viele riesige Malls, die jede für sich schon mehr beinhaltet, als man in Freiburg je kaufen könnte. Well, ich hab dann im Levi’s-Shop eine Hose für schlappe 28$ gekauft – in DE müsste man mindestens das 3fache zahlen. Dann war ich noch kurz in nem PC-Laden (in dem es massig Sonderangebote gab – wegen Ladenschließung, aber großartige Preisunterschiede zu Deutschland habe ich nicht festgestellt), in dem ich auch kurz im Internet war … (siehe letzten Post)

Dann war um 3 eben Treffen und wir machten uns auf den Weg zum Museum of Modern Art. Das Wetter war zu dem Zeitpunkt besch…eiden: Regen … Das Museum an sich war dann auch nicht so toll (wie ich erwartet habe), was dann darauf hinaus lief, dass ich und ein paar andere sich nach einer halben Stunde ins Museums-Café gesetzt haben und dort plauderten. Danach gingen wir – wie bereits erwähnt – in ein mexikanisches Restaurant Essen.

Am nächsten Morgen hieß es packen – unser Bus fuhr um 1PM. Die Zeit bis dahin haben wir genutzt, um mit der U-Bahn noch zur Mission Dolores zu fahren und sie zu besichtigen. War nicht übel dort – es gab schon langweiligere Kirchenbesuche ;-) Falls es jemanden interessiert: die Mission ist eines der ältesten Gebäude (afaik sogar das älteste Gebäude) der Umgebung: sie wurde um 1776 gebaut, von den spanischen Eroberern. Das Besondere ist, dass sich die Indianer anscheinend mit den Spaniern vertragen hatten – sie bemalten die Decke der Mission. In der Kirche (und in dem neuen Pendant, dass viel größer ist und direkt daneben steht) habe ich einige Bilder mit verschiedenen Belichtungsstufen gemacht und versuche diese demnächst als HDR-Bilder hier hineinzustellen.

Vor der Abfahrt gingen wir noch schnell ein Sandwich im “Subway” essen, dann hieß es Abschied nehmen von San Francisco. Ich glaube den Flair dieser Stadt werde ich nicht vergessen, es ist einfach einzigartig dort …
